T&Z #066: NO Means NO!

Posted by Michael  Published in Conventions, My Comics, STRIP, Ted & Zed

Ted & Zed #066: NO Means NO!Ted & Zed are back.  Again.  I think I say this way too much.  Whatever.  Eat it.  Enjoy it.  Come back for more later.  That’s what the zombies are gonna do anyway.  Looks like Zed is looking for a healthier diet.  Check out what he’s hankerin’ in wrap up their cooking fun.  But at what price?  See the kitchen shenanigans in Ted & Zed #66: No Means NO!

There is still another change to come.  I’m thinking of moving away from the vector art and closer to a hand drawn version of the guys.  Maybe a blend of the two?  I kind of like the way they were looking in the last strip and I think it can lead to more fun.

Speaking of strips… STRIP – The Dallas Webcomics Expo (formerly DWEX) is coming back for Round 3 this Saturday, August 6th!  That’s right, it’s been a whole year and we’re back for a whole new round of shenanigans!  The guest list is longer!  The buzz is louder!  The attendance will be crazy, so get there early!
The show will run from 10am-5pm but it doesn’t end there!  Come back at 6:30pm for STRIP’s 70′s & 80′s Retro Jam Live Art Show! Watch as your favourite artists (like James O’Barr – Creator of The Crow) create all sorts of art and then bid on it RIGHT THERE at our Charity Art Auction!  All proceeds will benefit the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas.

The charge of admission to STRIP – The Dallas Webcomics Expo is only $5, but you can save a buck by ordering your tickets online.  The Live Art Show is open to the public and free to attend.  We do ask, but not require, donations of any amount to attend the show. Music provided by DJ Mattrix and drinks are available at the Cattlemen’s Bar next to the Magnolia Room.
We look forward to seeing you there!

T&Z #65: Sweet Memories

Posted by Michael  Published in Conventions, DWEX, Geeks, My Comics, Nerds, STRIP, Ted & Zed

Ted & Zed #65: Sweet MemoriesTed & Zed wrap up their cooking fun.  But at what price?  See the kitchen shenanigans in Ted & Zed #65: Sweet Memories!

You may notice a change to the look and feel of the comic from here out.  I’ve recently moved from PhotoImpact Pro to CS3.  I’m trying to maintain the artistic integrity as I learn new stuff in CS3.  Please forgive the transition.  I’m sure it’ll be good as new in no time flat!

Thanks again to everyone who came out to DWEX last month!  Youse guys made it a booming success!  Fun was had by all and everyone’s looking forward to Year 3!  There have been some organizational changes, however.  The most obvious is the name.  “DWEX: The Dallas Webcomics Expo” is now “STRIP: The Dallas Webcomics Expo!”  I’ll write about it later tonight (provided my net connection behaves).  In the meantime, however, we’d love it if you would go to www.stripcon.net to get a jump start on things.  Buy some tickets!  Reserve some tables!  Send us your love mail!

It Could Be Worse #006: Death From BehindI don’t even know how to give this one any more of an intro than the freakin’ title!  Just pretend I said something witty and go check out It Could Be Worse #006: Death From Behind!

Don’t forget to come by and say “hi” if you’re going to be in the Austin area this Saturday.  I’m going to be at STAPLE in Austin, TX this Saturday with Thomas Overbeck of Times Like This fame.  We’ll be at table 80.

It Could Be Worse #005: CrapEver get a song stuck in your head?  Like, REALLY stuck?  Well, hopefully it was never as bad is it was in It Could Be Worse #005: Crap!

Incidentally, I’m going to be at STAPLE in Austin, TX this Saturday with Thomas Overbeck of Times Like This fame.  We’re going to be holding table 80 in place.  It’s got legs and a wide gate so I’m guessing we’ll have our work cut out for ourselves.  Come by and say “hi!”

Missed the first half.  Be there mañana bright and early.  Be sure youse guys come and visit and get yourself a drawing of Clyde having his way with you!

I’ll probably post some pictures from the event at the end of the weekend.  I’m posting them on Facebook as I take them, but if it gets busy that’ll probably stop, too.  I dunno.  Music is calling…
