Hit & Run. DAMMIT!

Posted by Michael  Published in Birthday, Facebook, Family, Jackson, Life, MySpace, Ouch, Ramblin', Social Networking, Travel

Seriously, these people need to be shaved, sterilied, & destroyed.  They need to be pulled from their vehicles, drawn into the center of town, and publically humiliated.  We need to take away their licenses.  We need to take away other priveliges.  They need to not be able to buy alcohol or lottery tickets.  They need to have memberships to clubs revoked.  If they’re professionals, they should probably be sacked.  Moral turpitude, dammit!  What dishonourable shit could even do something like this?  Where is it ok?  What possible reason would permit them from doing this?  Fear.  That’s all.

“Shit.  I screwed up.  I don’t want to get caught.  What if he’s hurt?  What if he’s dead?  If I leave, they can’t find me!  I’m ok.”

Well I got news for you, buddy.  I’m going to find you.  I’m going to track you down and justice shall be mine.  You WILL be arrested.  You WILL go to jail.  You WILL kiss my bumper and apologize for damaging my car.  You WILL pay my bloody deductible.

How am going to do this?  I need your help.  The help of the Dallas populace.  Here’s what happened:

I was traveling westbound on LBJ Freeway this morning.  I was in the far left lane.  Thanks jointly to weather and normal idiot drivers, traffic in front of me came to a halt and so did I.  Unfortunately, the guy behind me did not.  At 0647 I was struck from the rear by an unidentified vehicle.  All I know is that it was larger than my vehicle (I drive a 2007 Chevy HHR).  We both hit our blinkers and started to move to the right as traffice began moving.  I thought all was well and we were going to exchange info and all would be well in the Kingdom of Nigh.

That’s what I get for thinking, right?  As soon as I got hit I called my ex-wife to let her know I would be late picking up our children.  This call lasted all of 10 seconds and I immediately called 911 to report the incident.  In the process of moving over I lost track of the second driver.  It could have been one of two particular drivers next to me, however I only retrieved one of the license plates.  That’s right, buddy.  There’s a 50/50 shot I got your number!

I got off at TI Blvd and thought he would, too.  He did not.  The ass turkey decided to keep going.  I know he did because it could only have been one of these two vehicles and I was unable to follow.  I couldn’t get back over.  It was too late.

Here’s what I need.  If you were traveling along LBJ Freeway (635 West) in Dallas, Texas around 0647am on Friday, 19 December 2008, I would greatly appreciate it if you happened to be a witness.  Did you see this happen?  Did you see the second vehicle flee?  Make?  Model?  Hell, even COLOUR!  It was too dark for me to see through my rear view mirror, but I would love the help of the public.

Even if you didn’t see this, I’d love if you’d repost this in your own blog to help find the culprit.  MySpace, Facebook, Blogger, WHATEVER!  I need help, youse guys, and I’m in a bunch of pain.  Nothing broken, but I’m still hurtin’.  No sense in me having to pay ANYTHING out of pocket when some JACKASS did this and didn’t even have the gonads to stick around and man up to what he did.

Ass.

By the by.  Today is my son Jackson’s second birthday.  I’m sure he’d love a shout, yo.

Mac’s Life #020: Only Four More Elections…

Posted by Michael  Published in Divorce, Family, Lawyers, Life, Mac's Life, Marriage, My Comics, Relationships

So I get this email from my lawyer’s assistant yesterday at around 1300 and it’s “reminding” me that we have a hearing scheduled for today at 0900 and I need to attend.  WTF?!

I mean I have no problem with dusting off my suit, shaving all the fur offa my face, and standing upright just enough to pass as a homo sapiens sapiens, I just like to have more than 20 hours notice.

Training Day

Posted by Michael  Published in Life, Scripts, Writing, Zune

I’ve been inactively getting into a groove for getting into shape.  It’s a lot tougher than one would expect.  It’s funny: when you’re young you’re able to just switch into gear and run around and jump around and fall out of trees and it never really phases you.  Once you’ve grown up and spent a few years of basically sitting on your arse, these things start getting difficult.

I used to run all the time.  I tried doing the cross country / track thing all throughout high school but something always got in the way.  It never stopped me from actually running, though.  I trained with the teams during the summer and ran in the fun runs whenever I could.  I kept in shape in marching band (yeah, it’s really possible) and then there was the Air Force after high school.  You can’t but get into shape when you first enlist.  It was easy to keep it going once I started.

After the Air Force it was back to the marching band scene with the Riverside Community College Marching Tigers.  Again, I was able to keep active.  It wasn’t long after leaving the marching band that I married Amanda and enlisted in the California Army National Guard.  They whiped me back into shape real fast.

I began a sedintary existence once we moved to Sacramento.  My career took a different direction as I found my psuedo-niche.  I got paid to sit on my arse for 14-20 hours a day.  Not bad.  Yeah… right.

About two years after we moved to Texas I decided I wanted to break out of my sedintary lifestyle and joined a local rugy league.  It was a short-lived change, however, because my work schedule changed after only 2 months of training.  All of that pain was for nothing because I immediately ceased any physical activities.

So here we are.  I’ve decided to start running again.  It’s the first real step to getting that lean muscle build.  I don’t want to bulk up like Superman or Arnie or anything like that.  I just want to have a larger frame than I currently possess.  Yes, I want to look good in spandex.  No one laughs at Spidey when he’s swingin’ around the Big Apple.

I currently weigh 152 pounds and stand at appx. 6 feet tall.

My goal is 180 pounds by 01 September 2009.

This should be doable.  I’ll be monitoring my nutrition at www.myfitnesspal.com and my running at www.mapmyrun.com.  These tools should be a nice way to motivate me to stay the course.  I’ll be posting progress almost daily and pictures weekly.  I’ll probably post pictures on the weekends.

I’ll also be posting my workout playlists.  Not just so you can laugh at what I listen to while I’m running, but also so that I may better customize it.  Right now it’s pretty generic.  I grabbed some aggressive artists and threw them all together in one massive playlist on my Zune.  I’ll post what played as I ran and cut out what wasn’t working for me.  Feel free to make comments and suggestions.
